There is a calming effect when molding dough in to rolls for the cookie cutter or just balls. Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour (or oat flour for a gluten free option)
- 1/2 Cup rolled oats
- 1/2 Cup unsweetened peanut butter (ensure it does not contain xylitol)
- 1/4 Cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 Cup water
- 2 Slices of cooked bacon
- 1 T bacon grease from cooked bacon (use for drizzle)
- 2 T Honey
- 2T Cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat Oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl combine the whole wheat flour and rolled oats
- Add the wet ingredients: Add the peanut butter, applesauce and water.
- Mix until dough forms (if the dough is too dry add more liquid, if too wet add more flour)
- Roll out the dough: Be create as you like. Use cookie cutters, make shapes from glass rings or just rolling out the dough into bite size balls.
- Place each on baking sheet
- Bake treats in preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Cool completely
- FROSTING: OPTIONAL
- Mix bacon crease with honey and cornstarch until thick
- Drizzle with bacon grease and crumble bacon top for extra flavor
- Allow them to set and dry
- Serve

- Check for allergies: Always ensure that your dog is not allergic to any of the ingredeints. Common allergens include wheat and certain nuts.
