And Solo Travelers

Tips for Solo Travelers
Ever wonder why people are afraid to travel alone? Environment is everything. Plus awareness, but this blog is about where to stay and why as a solo traveler. First, start with Luxury Brand Hotels. My experience has been excellent every single time.
I’m not a travel on a budget type person, so if you’re looking to travel with the best deals, low prices and airbnbs, this blog isn’t for you. So you’re going to want to stop reading here.
For those who are willing to spend money on a travel experience hang with me. Let me tell you a little about my mindset and why I travel like I do and stay at Luxury Brand Hotels.
First, I travel for vacation and the experiences. I do not travel on a budget trying to check off as many places as possible on a budget and then sneak into high end hotels to snap photos for Instagram. I also don’t label “travel” when visiting family. My travel blog is purely vacation travel. Trust me I personally know people that do this. Although it’s their thing, that’s not how I roll. Everything you see on my blog and Instagram I’ve done. My information is authentic and I share it to inspire. If you vibe with it fabulous, if you grab some take-a-ways and nuggets, fantastic. In the end, all is real, I’ve been everyplace I’ve posted and they’ve all been real vacations. Period.
Now back to environment. When I travel I’m looking for an experience outside of my normal life. I’m looking to stay at a high end Luxury Brand Hotel that offers amenities, opulence and tranquility. I’m looking for daily housekeeping because I’m not interested in making my bed, laundering my towels, emptying my trash like I do every day at home.
You can most certainly get all of the requirements above at any level hotel, but if you want an experience outside of day to day living and the extra comfort of safety, I recommend always staying at a Luxury Brand Hotel.

Safety First
As you may know many of the Luxury Brand Hotels have high end shopping as well. Therefore, there is always an extra layer of security personnel and security cameras around. There is extra staff and people. In the building.
You will want to look for safety first, if you’re not sure call the hotel in advance and ask to speak to someone at the front desk or concierge. I’ve done this numerous times when not sure of the location. These folks have always giving me really good information before I booked my reservation. If you’re not sure, call and speak to those in the know. They’re honest. Yes, they want you to stay at their hotel for sure, but if you ask if it’s safe for solo travelers, they will give additional details unknown to regular travelers.
Luxury Brand Hotels are most often in really good and safe areas. Even if in big cities, they’re located in busy areas where there are bellmen, valet attendants, security guards not only for their building, but those adjacent. So you will always encounter employees as you enter and exit the building. Those folks will become familiar with you and look out for you as well. I’ve experienced this personally on each and every trip.

Location and Transportation
As mentioned Luxury Brand Hotels are almost always located in the center of the main attraction of the city, Therefore, it’s very safe to walk places and get Ubers or Taxis. The bellmen and valet attendants will help you each and every time. All you have to do is ask them and leave a tip. (Yes, tip them, the more frequently you tip, the more information and service you will receive). I always carry cash for this reason.
Uber or Taxi? It really depends on your location. I typically use Uber, Lyft and rarely a taxi. However, my recent trip to Paris and Las Vegas, taxi’s were the preferred method. Again, it will depend on where you are located, just ask either a local or sometimes the driver will share without asking. I’ve found drivers to be extremely helpful and looking out for my safety, sharing where to go, what time and how to get to and from. (Of course I left a tip)
Pay attention to the valet cars, that will provide an additional safety factor knowing the caliber of people staying at your hotels. It’s all about the safe environment that Luxury Brand Hotels offer.

Which Hotel Chain?
It’s really not too difficult to find a Luxury Brand Hotel, you can google and read the reviews. However, I’ve found chains while on vacation. Yes, while on vacation I will walk into adjacent hotels and get a feel for the environment. I’ll talk to people and ask them as well. People are friendly and happy to share.
If you know a travel agent, they are a great resource too. I started my solo travel journey with a travel agent and book most of my trips through an agent. Again, I’m not focused on budget, I’m focused on the experience and safety.
Luxury Brand Hotels are usually so magnificent you really could stay the weekend in the hotel and never leave. They have fabulous restaurants, shopping, spas, pools, gym and bars all within the establishment. So if you want to try a first time get-a-way, go for a weekend.
