Are you looking for easy breakfast recipes you can make ahead, feed a family or serve for brunch? I found this recipe on TheModernProper, one of may favorite go to places for a fresh spin on recipes. You can find the original recipe on their website, I modified it for my personal needs and it turned out delicious. I love french toast, (I mean who doesn’t?) I decided to give the recipe a try and actually substituted a few ingredients where I found I didn’t even need maple syrup!
Truth be told, I didn’t have all the ingredients in my house at the time. There was a snow storm headed to our area IN A FEW DAYS and the grocery stores were a zoo, completely empty, no eggs, etc. so I used what I had in the house. At the time I only had 3 eggs, but a jar of organic unsweetened applesauce in my pantry. Whoa-lah! I learned a long time ago not to stress if I didn’t have the exact ingredients. I learned to substitute when possible and never have been disappointed. So don’t panic if you don’t have what you need, just google for help to confirm. (I didn’t have google back in the day).
This recipe is not only easy to make, it’s scrumptious. Your guests, family will be surely pleased when you place this beautiful dish on the table.
