Nashville! What’s not to love about Nashville? If you’ve ever been there or this is your first time considering Nashville, you’re in for a treat. I highly recommend Nashville to anyone who is a music lover.
Nashville is affectionately known at Music City and knows how to throw a party- and New Year’s Eve is no exception. With it’s vibrant music scene, incredible food and community that loves to celebrate, Nashville has become one of the top cities to ring in the new year.
I wrote a blog two years ago when I travelled to Nashville for the first time as a solo traveller to ring in the new year 2023. I felt completely safe and had a blast to say the least. I met the most incredible friendly people, ate some fabulous southern food and travelled our the city effortlessly. It’s a hidden gem for New Year’s Eve. Why? Because it’s less crowded the LA or NY and Miami, but has all the same attention without the crowds. Yes, you could most definitely run into your favorite artists on Broadway..

What To Wear
Seems like a silly topic, but it’s not. Nashville is super relaxed, you could spend your entire Ringing In the New Year weekend in lululemons with sneakers or jeans. If you love your cowboy boots and hots, bring them and wear what you’re used to, because you won’t want to break in new boots while there. There’s so much walking, you want to be comfortable. There’s a saying that the locals don’ts wear cowboy boots and hats, but Nashville is fully of tourists. So, It’s up to you what you want to bring and where, I just will emphasis you will want to be comfortable.
I would add that if you’re going to ring in the new year with ultimate Nashville celebration style, you would definitely dress up like a normal New Year’s Eve party. Definitely bring or buy the bling!
You can shop for bling cowboy boots, hats, belts, cross body purses. Just about anything comes in bling in Nashville and of course “fringe”. But don’t fret, because you don’t have to buy a thing if you’re on a budget, just crab your comfortable clothes and shoes, a few layers to keep up with the weather and you’ll be good to go!

Must See Honkey Tonks and More
The Big Bash: Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight
This is the main attraction for keeping up with LA, NY and Miami for New Years Eve. It’s held in downtown Nashville. It’s a free outdoor concert at Bicentennial Captiol Mall State Park and feature live performances from the biggest names in country, rock and pop. And you won’t want to miss the iconic Music Note Drop and magnificent fireworks at midnight.
If you want to pay for VIP seats there are options, Check them out online or put your name on a waitlist. I knew a couple who got seats at the very last minute.
Party On Broadway
Well, there’s always a party on Broadway! If you’re ringing in the new year the classic Nashville style would be this experience. There are so many bars and honky-tonks with live music, dancing and food celebrating all night long. Although I didn’t take this experience for my New Year’s Eve evening, I definitely spent a lot of time on Broadway. Make sure to visit Tootsies, Jason Aldean’s Kid Rock and Garth Brooks’ Rooftops. The views are spectacular.
Fine Dining and Elegant Soiress
If you want a more refined experience like I did, check out the Justin Timberlake’s Twelve Thirty Club, Etch or One Hotel’s events. Make reservations ahead of time on line, you will not be disappointed! Omni Nashville even hosts a glamorous black-tie event with music and champagne toasts all night long!
Dolly Parton’s White Limozeen
This is another iconic stop and you’ll definitely need reservations, so make them before you travel. It’s super popular, but you’ll get some great food, drinks and classic photos!
The Gulch
Make sure you take time and visit the Gulch. There are great places to eat, the angel wings mural is there and great shopping! It’s off the hustle and bustle of Broadway and has it’s own vibe. Don’t miss this area.
Photo Mural Tour in 12 South
Nashville is fully of photo opportunities and selfies are happening everywhere. If you want to make everlasting memories with professional keepsakes, I hight recommend the photo shoot tour in 12 South. Check out my Viator Get Your Guide links on the home page of my blog and make your reservations now. You will not be disappointed, but you might be a little hung over for them. lol
The tour took about an hour, we got a little history with the tour and you could make a day of 12 South afterwards. There are great restaurants and shopping in this quaint little area of Nashville.

What’s New (and what I didn’t have time to do)
I definitely want to ring in the New Year in Nashville again! The Ultimate guide to everywhere to visit are the highlights of the trip I took, but there’s so much more because Nashville is growing.
Garth Brooks opened up a new Honkey Tonk on Broadway. I would definitely check it out. There’s a rooftop, Trisha’s kitchen, classic bar and live music with dancing. Something for everyone in one place. This is on my list for sure.
Blake Shelton has Ole Red. I’d definitely check this out next time.
Printer’s Alley is known for its speak easy bar. This is a classic and iconic experience, one I didn’t have a chance to do because I ran out of time. Definitely go, It’s at the end of Broadway.
The Ryman
I’d definitely check out who’s playing at the Ryman and attend. This is a classic iconic venue similarly to the value of the Grand Ole Opry.

Much has changed and I’m sure it’s more popular now two years later, but don’t let that deter you. Make your travel arrangements and just go, even if alone (as long as you’re comfortable traveling alone). Make great memories for your self by Ringing In the New Year’s in Nasvhille 2024.
